| Casa Bonita originated in 1989, in Waukegan, IL by Horacio and Isabel Lopez. For the past 23 years Casa Bonita continues to use the same succulent and authentic south of the border Mexican recipes. After many years of excellent food and service, Casa Bonita became labeled “Lake County’s Favorite Mexican Restaurant”. In 2009, Casa Bonita relocated and opened their doors in charming downtown Libertyville, IL with a high energy, excellent service, vacation-like atmosphere offering an indoor and 3-seasons outdoor dining experience. With the new location and many changes, the one ingredient to remain the same is …the finely prepared authentic Mexican recipes, the same recipes that have been used over the past 23 years. Casa Bonita’s recipes are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients selected from local markets. All dishes are handmade and prepared daily to ensure impeccable taste and south of the border flavor. Casa Bonita Libertyville also expanded their family by adding one of the largest Tequila Bar in the state of Illinois, offering over 150 different types of Tequila. Casa Bonita is known for their homemade simple syrup and fresh squeezed limes daily which makes for the "Ultimate Margarita". We only use 100% Blue Agave.
